The Field Engineer supports on-site construction operations for concrete projects by assisting Foremen and Superintendents with project coordination, documentation, reporting, scheduling, and daily field activities. This role plays a key part in ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project plans and specifications.The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced field environment.

Essential Responsibilities

Field Support
• Assist Foremen and Superintendents with daily jobsite operations.
• Support layout verification, measurements, and elevation checks.
• Monitor field production and track installed quantities.
• Coordinate material deliveries, equipment needs, and workforce requirements.
• Help identify and resolve field issues proactively.
Project Setup & Coordination
• Assist with jobsite mobilization and initial project setup.
• Maintain current sets of drawings, specifications, RFIs, and submittals onsite.
• Distribute updated plans and ensure crews are working from current documents.
• Coordinate with subcontractors, vendors, and internal teams as needed.Reporting & Documentation
• Prepare and submit daily field reports.
• Document production rates, manpower, equipment usage, and weather conditions.
• Track and document change orders, delays, and field impacts.
• Maintain accurate records for billing and cost tracking purposes.
Scheduling Support
• Assist with short-term and look-ahead schedules.
• Monitor progress against project milestones.
• Communicate schedule impacts or delays to supervisors.
Quality & Safety
• Ensure work complies with project specifications and quality standards.
• Assist with inspections, punch lists, and corrective actions.
• Promote and enforce company safety policies and job site safety procedures.
• Participate in safety meetings and job hazard analysis.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in construction management, Civil Engineering, or related field preferred (or equivalent field experience).
• 1–3 years of experience in concrete construction or related field experience preferred.
• Basic understanding of concrete forming, reinforcing, placement, and finishing processes.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and construction management software.
• Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
• Valid driver’s license required.
