We are seeking an experienced Heavy Equipment Operator. The ideal candidate will be responsible for safely operating and maintaining various heavy equipment machines to ensure the efficient movement of materials around the site. This role is crucial in supporting our commitment to safety, efficiency, and productivity.
- Safely drive and operate heavy equipment such as conveyor, excavator, skid steer, loader, and tractor trailers and other machinery in a safe and effective manner to minimize the risk of injury, property damage, or loss of life
- Perform daily safety and maintenance checks as well as simple mechanical work on equipment, ensuring all machinery is in perfect working order
- Coordinate with the site management team to plan, execute, and monitor the movement of materials within the jobsite, ensuring all operations align with safety standards and project specifications
- Adjust equipment settings and operational controls as necessary to meet project requirements
- Identify and communicate the need for maintenance, repair, or replacement of equipment, minimizing downtime and maintaining productivity
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment, promptly reporting any safety incidents or hazards
- Participate in ongoing training and adhere to all safety policies and procedures
- Maintain trip records as required
- Work closely with the team to ensure materials are moved efficiently and projects are completed on time
- Load and unload equipment as required
- Ensures the cleanliness of company vehicles, equipment and premises
- Basic knowledge of vehicle and equipment repair and maintenance
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- Concrete experience is a plus
- Proven experience as a Heavy Equipment Operator
- Knowledge of production processes, quality control, and other techniques for maximizing the effective distribution of goods
- In-depth understanding of industry safety standards and regulations
- Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to perform minor repairs on equipment
- Excellent coordination and communication skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, willing to get dirty/muddy and adapt to changing priorities
- High level of physical fitness and strength, able to lift 80 – 100 lbs.
- Must have a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) Class A
- Must maintain a Federal Medical Card
- Aerial and life certification (obtain and maintain within one month of hire)
