We are looking for a proactive and highly organized Yard Manager to oversee all aspects of the yard. Including but not limited to, heavy equipment and vehicle operations, inventory, equipment, maintenance, and resource allocation. This role is responsible for managing equipment procurement, maintenance, utilization, transportation logistics, and compliance. The ideal candidate will ensure that all machinery and vehicles are safe, reliable, and available when needed to meet project timelines.
Equipment Management
- Manage a fleet of construction equipment including concrete pumps, mixers, Rental equipment, Conveyors, excavators, and related tools.
- Schedule preventive maintenance and repair work to ensure equipment uptime and reliability.
- Maintain detailed service records, equipment usage logs, and maintenance schedules.
- Coordinate with mechanics, vendors, and rental companies for repair and supplemental equipment needs.
- Oversee inspections to ensure equipment meets regulatory and safety standards.
Transport & Logistics
- Manage all company transportation assets, including trucks, trailers, and delivery vehicles.
- Schedule and dispatch transport for equipment, materials, and supplies to job sites.
- Ensure DOT compliance including proper licensing, inspections, driver logs, and safety requirements.
- Optimize routes and delivery schedules to reduce downtime and increase productivity.
Staff & Supervision
- Supervise Yard employees and Transport drivers.
- Provide training and ensure adherence to safety policies and operational procedures.
Inventory & Procurement
- Track and manage inventory of tools, rentals, spare parts, fuel, and consumables.
- Minimum Quarterly inventory reconciliation
- Source and order replacement parts, equipment, and services from approved vendors.
- Manage equipment purchasing and rental agreements in coordination with project management/Operations.
Compliance & Safety
- Enforce company safety policies and OSHA standards for all equipment and transport operations.
- Ensure all equipment operators and drivers are properly certified and trained.
- Conduct routine inspections and audits to identify and correct potential hazards.

- 2+ years of experience in equipment and/or transport management, preferably in concrete or heavy construction.
- Strong knowledge of construction equipment operation, maintenance, and transportation logistics.
- Familiarity with DOT regulations, OSHA safety standards, and heavy equipment certifications.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
- Proficiency with fleet management software, GPS tracking, and Microsoft Office.
- Valid driver’s license (CDL preferred but not required).
- Ability to work in outdoor environments and on active construction sites.
- Capable of lifting 50 lbs and performing inspections on large equipment.
